Federation of Nova Scotian Heritage

2008 Spring Conference and Annual General Meeting

April 24-26, 2008

Osprey Centre, Shelburne NS

Conference Theme: Heritage Tourism – Are Museums Ready?

Tourism, by some estimates, is the world’s largest industry.  In Nova Scotia, heritage, whether natural or cultural, is the major product offering of the Province’s tourism industry - and museums are a significant part of this tourism offering.  But, are Nova Scotia’s museums ‘product-ready’?  Are they willing and able to do what it takes to be a heritage tourism success?

Annual General Meeting

The Board of the Federation will be proposing a series of significant organizational changes.  These include a new vision and mission, changing our name to “Association of Nova Scotia Museums”, and the adoption of a formal regional organizational structure. This is a pivotal AGM that will affect what we do for many years to come. If you are interested in the future of museums in Nova Scotia please make sure you are a paid-up member and plan on attending!
